About Us

Section 2 Productions is a partnership based production house and boutique agency. We identify key members from the collective and curate the perfect team to tell your story.

We love the transformative power of storytelling and it’s our privilege to take an organization’s ideas, hopes, dreams and challenges and translate them into a form that moves people to think, feel, consider and act.

How we work

Members of what we call the constellation economy, our collective of award-winning filmmakers, designers, animators, artists and communications professionals, work in the storytelling space across all platforms. From digital to documentary, corporate to commercial, we can complement your agency or in-house creative team or independently develop a campaign from start to finish.

Branded Docs and Social Media

I love working with Section 2. They bring incredibly talented professionals to each production, and ensure that planning, shoot day, and post production are on time, on budget, and above expectation.
— Daniel Presnell, Principal, Wiseblood
Section 2 was a fantastic partner that truly helped the Conconi Family Foundation capture and communicate the essence of who we are and what we do. The creative process was extremely thoughtful, responsive and accommodating. Each person on the team was unique and well versed in their craft with lots of independence to operate due to the deep experience. In the end, this resulted in a wonderful series of videos that we are very proud of and feel they perfectly capture our story.
— Sanja simic, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CONCONI FAMILY FOUNDATION
We needed to tell our story in a compelling visual way for the MIT Climate Co-lab contest submission. Section 2 worked with us, our materials, relentlessly posed good questions, framed and scripted our story. She executed and delivered not just a video but a story so well told we won the Grand Prize!”
— Elizabeth Sheehan, President, Climate Smart

Jessica Fraser: Co-Founder

An experienced creative, Jess has had the great privilege of being part of teams that have showcased their work at major festivals including Cannes, Berlin, Sundance and Toronto. She loves using storytelling as a vehicle to accelerate change in both local and international arenas and has directed short, impact driven films that have helped raise money for not for profit organizations and social enterprises nationally and internationally. Her company, Section 2 Productions, has also produced and directed a number of branded doc style pieces, commercials, and organizational media for clients across Canada.

She co-created the Mobile Movement Project — a next generation, interactive, crowdfunding and collaborative development platform that partnered with UN HABITAT and USAID from 2009-2013. What inspired her work was making ensuring people receiving investment and aid were directly seen and heard — making the invisible visible. Mobile Movement was a Macarthur Foundation award winner and Jess was also honoured with the BC Council for International Cooperation’s Global Citizen's Leadership Award for her work in this field.
